Does "getting married" have any relevance to your past life?
Whether a person is a saint, or a sinner they still have that right - I would question the sanity of their decision, but not their right.
I'm suitably admonished by your comment: yes I've heard the inaccurate expression, but would never have used it. (Whilst I have an abiding love of France, I find it too full of French people.)
Complete honesty (like perfection) is unobtainable in any relationship, so all life forms use a whole range of tactics to obtain what we want.
I define relationships here as any other creature that we come into contact with during our daily lives.
Most is instinctual behaviour. EG if you want to encourage a small nervous animal/child to approach, you automatically crouch and if you want to appear threatening you stretch up and expand your torso.
These actions are the opposite end of the spectrum from "girlie voice" and "man flu" but if we believe we can iradicate manipulativeness we delude ourselves - it's part of life.
