When I studied weaving and textile design at Rochester Institute of Technology, we had to dye yarns with all sort of chemically based dyes, natural, procion and analine. The yellows were always prone to tangle. Felt dry even though they were wet. In glass making, my career for 35 years the yellow colors are stiff and prone to crack in enamels. The blues and purples are slippery. Is this the case with your threads? It may be due to the exact chemicals that are used to get each color. I cannot say but this is just my experience. Should be interesting to have a chemist comment.

Heredity and probably diet will effect the onset of gray. Many teens get gray because it runs in the family. Some people seem to never go gray until 60. Damn them. Luckily there are great colors you can go to easily with the help of a good stylist. Me, I am gloriously blonde at 57.

My experience is that they have to be old enough to care for the site of the piercing and deal with any infection on their own. I knew of an 18 yr old who got an infection at the belly button piercing site from chaffing. The reason was she was, well, kind of chubby at the site, so if this is a factor for your 12 year old, I'd say wait. The way I handled it with my kids was to say: "Hey, Great idea, but the parlors are full of disease and weirdos, so Mommy will pierce it for you." I then grabbed the BBQ fork and laid it across the gas flame. Humming I got out a bowl of ice... Needles to say they are 25 and 28 now and have never gotten anything pierced!

Yes, as long as you know your exact prescription with you "pd" pupilary distance". You will also need to know what size frames you wear and the size of lens for your prescription. Tri focals for instance need 32 mm high frames. Zenni Optical in Santa Rosa, California made mine and I love they only cost 1/4 of the mall store price.

Before the age of machines children were a source of LABOR in the family. Then they became posessions. SO yes it follows: "adults fear of getting old that they think if they keep control of their children, and keep them children for longer it means they are still young?"
Parents for decades have forgotten to utilize their power to form the next generation rather than playing with the idea of family as a way of forming posterity;legacy. It's a disgrace that women feel they can have "baby Daddy" then go on to more men over and over again. It's the children who pay the price.
I know it only occurred to me when they were teenagers that the job perhaps was to prepare them to TAKE OVER from my generation. A fault of too much self-interest on my part. I plan on being a force for change in the next generation. Ask Grannie anything, but you better duck if you don't want to take responsibility for your own legacy.
