I am a mother of 2 and my partner of 3 years has a little girl the same age as my youngest and i dont feel any connection with her and i see the way she looked at me which obviously is not her fault i blame her bitter mother but i dont feel that i will ever be acepted by her but as i see it life goes on and she either learns to accept us or not. I think anyone who takes on step children and is there no matter what happens deservs a medal as it is one of the hardest things i have had to learn and adjust to

Personally i dont think there is a right time or exact time for the talk i remember (slightly) having the talk with my mum and she was just honest with me and told the truth, my daughter has asked a few questions about certain things and i have done the same just be honest and let her no that its ok to come talk to you about this or anythink on her mind. Good luck xxx

I have pretty much the same trouble but i now have a clear out about a month before an occasion (birthday, xmas). I send the children up to my mums for an hour and get it all done and i have now got big plastic boxes with lids that i stack on top of each other where the toys are kept inside and tidy and also as the children can not lift the boxes i ensure that the toy they have out go away before they get anymore out, good luck xx
