Invariably, it should be an evolutionary process.

The reason is simple; development of classical sciences, and the utilitarian implications in the form of technology both are progressive and thus, the process should be gradual and cumulative.

The locations in which the industrial revolution took its 'commercial shape' happened to be the result of many factors besides mere science and technology. For example, the dominance and high aspirations of middle class, royal patronage for international trade and commerce, new materialistic perspectives developed during those specific periods and many more contributed to the rapid progress of industrial revolution is Europe.

I believe the 'cultural' evolution has accelerated the industrial revolution. 'social' evolution has not contributed any less. These factors, present in England for example during that period, resulted in the rapid expansion of the revolution.

The industrial revolution became a reality in England because many factors conducive to the revolution were present. The change in any organism both influences and is influenced by the environment. In biological evolution, physical factors played an important role while in Industrial revolution, many other factors too played their role.

Coming to individual contribution, no one can be individual in the true sense of the word. For example, present scientists use earlier scientists' innovations and inventions. They cannot work in vacuum.

however, we should keep the popular saying in mind. Whole is surely more than sum of individual parts. But, at the same time, the whole is not possible without individual entities. The same is the case with individual role in the whole of scientific and technological advancement.

I hope I answered your question from a broader perspective. But please understand that this is my personal opinion.

the mechanical cutting and editing of a program can never replace the holistic perception, evaluation, and presentation that can result in 'humanistic' presentation in human painting. The worth of an object lies , not in the ease of production, but in toil needed to prepare it. The parallel can be between hand loom fabrics and machine made cloth. creativity is another attribute that decides the worth.A computer program can never be creative while a human being cannot be anything but creative when it comes to painting. thus, painting is of eternal artistic value, while the worth of a photograph on this front cannot be denied.

i take a break for two or three days. during that period, i enjoy my time with friends. i try to read some or other story and analyze how i could have written that piece of work if i had been the person who wrote it. this will work as it brings our the competitive spirit, makes the mind fresh and ready for another intellectual endeavour.
i hope this might help you.

to go in a lighter vein, i shall answer the question the following way.
when we are the receivers, we want the best in time.
when we are at supervising end, you need to find fault with others and we need to have more time of others for other matters.
