I used to, but as I grew on in years I realised that every generation before me had the very same worries. The world to oldies like myself does seem more threatening at times but I think that very often we look back to our childhood days through the proverbial rose coloured spectacles. Like every generation of children they grow up and integrate into society as it is at the time - what may seem alien and potentially hazardous to us is just normal to them. Let's face it the perception that that things were better a couple of generations ago is false - 2 World Wars, Vietnam, the Cold War, slum housing - is just not true. Maybe there was a greater sense of community, but to a large extent I think it was a necessity in order to survive the horrors and shortages created by the World Wars. Even then ,however, black markets existed.
I think what we see as threats to bringing children into the world are just changes, not necessarily bad, in the way society develops; and change is one of the hardest things for most individuals to come to terms with be it at work or in life outside of work.

Spend less time on the computer and get on with some nelected pastimes. I shall, however, be joining the new site and keep in contact with friends I have made on IQ.

Excepting immediate family members the only person I have complete trust in is a very close friend of mine who I have known for over 15 years. She has demonstrated repeatedly that I can place absolute faith in her integrity and honesty. I don't suppose many other people can say that about a friend.
