| loopyg4eva answers: That really depends on the individual body there Duffman. I have to say though, as much as I like piercings, I draw the line at these - what they call 'flesh tunnels', I find them unsightly, for but one reason not to have one.
If the jewellery was to be permanently removed, then I'd suggest that over time, if it was done correctly, the fistula(the healing tunnel created when originally pierced) would shrink if the jewellery was worn in reverse order, allowing the hole to shrink back, rather than just collapse on itself.
The health status of the individual body would play a great part in the shrinking process because as you say, the elasticity of the lobe tissue has to be considered, but this was factored in when I suggested reversing the order of wearing jewellery. This is also how male genital piercings are 'closed', depending on 'size' - of the piercing that is!
Even with the best health, and the best intentions in the world, there is the obvious risk that the lobe, or any other piercing won't heal as wished and will need removing in time anyway, and yes, there is a BIG risk of permanently sagging lobes, whch are only corrected surgically afterwards, which is not cheap by any standards, nor scar or pain free.
I'll check with my piercer, but I think my info, from memory is correct. :) 3 years ago / reply
