My friend recently bought a TFT monitor in South Africa. Back in the UK he can not get it to work. Is it because of where its from or something else?

| cairina.moschata answers: He didn't but a hairdryer from the U.S. as well did he. That happened on here the other day and we managed to trace the fault to being a different voltage between here and there, Does that happen in this case?

| Aiming4777 answers: Nope South Africa is the same voltage as us. There's no obvious reason why it shouldn't work because of its origins. Quite a long way to take it back to the shop though.
