Riddle me this...
A certain large animal lives happily and thrives here on Earth.
One day, every single one of these critters is wiped out by a
mysterious disease which affects only this particular animal.
There are none left anywhere on earth -- they are all gone.
About a year or so later, they begin to reappear on Earth again.
How can this be?

mathpath answers:

Some were left in the oceans!

Or the revived ones were grown from eggs (as in sea tortoises).

PocketDemon answers:

Can't recall which animal it is, but i'm sure there some cross between two animals that then can't reproduce itself - hence you'd need two of the original animals to mate.

Just thought of it - it's a mule.

It could be any true hybrid animal, such as a liger, tigon, zorse, zonkey or zony (see picture) etc

P-Kasso answers:

If the animal was man and mankind was wiped out on Earth, then any astronauts in orbit returning to Earth would be the re-appearing animal.
Probably not the right answer but it's logical. Can I have my Doggy prize now?
