So what makes you think you will live to be a ripe old age?
The people who are living into their 90s are the ones who were born early last century and ate what is now thought of as the wrong food.

I can only speak for my family, friends and neighbours, plus the knowledge of my own diet, but it seems that most people ate boiled eggs with thickly buttered "soldiers", suet puddings, jam roly poly, dumplings, spotted dick, bangers and mash, belly pork, etc. etc.

So why have most people changed their diets to muesli, salad and non-fattening things?

There is absolutely no proof, because it hasn't gone on long enough to obtain proof, that these new ideas about eating will prolong life.

I knew there was a reason for me shying away from rabbit food!! I don't know if i will live a long life, but i will of lived a happy life, not worrying about such things as counting calories or if i can have a packet of crisps. I enjoy all food in moderation and will continue to do so.
Also, have you seen how many runners/joggers drop down dead after exercise?? Thats why i don't do any, it's far to dangerous!!

Of course ifut, all these 90 year-old spring chickens were all war-time rationing dudes - and the wartime diet may have been boring but it was apparently really healthy.

It's all these super-loaded and chemically sand-blasted foods that clog up arteries.

So you might be right. Bring back food cooked by cooks not by chemists!

Pass the Jam Roly Poly!

Does that mean Steak and Kidney Pudding is back on the menu?

I doubt if I will ever live to be 90 but without it, it will seem like it!
