Sorry! I agree with siasl74 opinion.
Sqaush belongs to the beerys.
I only was confused, because Cucumbers and bananas belong to the beerys, too.

siasl74 answers:

It's a fruit - there are seeds on the inside

Supplement from 02/28/2008 06:02pm:

cos it fits with the definition of what a fruit is:

1. the developed ovary of a seed plant with its contents and accessory parts, as the pea pod, nut, tomato, or pineapple.
2. the edible part of a plant developed from a flower, with any accessory tissues, as the peach, mulberry, or banana.
3. the spores and accessory organs of ferns, mosses, fungi, algae, or lichen.

even if the squash is used as a veg

I'm inclined to think it's a fruit.

However, it depends which taxonomy you use.
It can be argued that everything it "animal, vegetable or mineral" - which would make it vegetable. (Yes, I know about mycoplankton, prions, bacteria, photosynthetic bacteria, and some fungii which don't fit this, but you get my drift).

Alternatively, it's a game played with a racquet.
