Are there still any amusement arcades that just take 1p and 2p coins?
As a kid, 20-something years ago, I used to love going to the amusement arcade at Hollingworth Lake in Rochdale and spending about £2 in 1p and 2p coins - it was a fantastic place!
Do any of these penny arcades still exist?

| wumpus answers: Kind of.
I know of a few arcades which have sections reserved for machines which run on 1p and 2p coins. Not a complete arcade though.
Also, on the end of Southport pier they have a sort of cafe on the end which has a "museum" of maybe 20 or 30 old arcade machines (including 2 "what the butler saw" machines) which run on the OLD 1p pieces - the really big old coins.
It costs £1 for 10 old 1p pieces - that's inflation for you. 3 years ago / reply
