Is The Book of Counted Sorrows real?
Dean Koontz has lines from the book in every one of his books. Is the Counted Sorrows actually another of his books, or does he compose just the lines he uses each time. Is it a real book from which he quotes?
asked in literature
He started it as a reference to a non-existent book, I assume as a kind of homage to HP Lovecraft, who always referenced non-existent books (the Necronomiconof the Mad Arab Abdul Alhazred is the most famous).
Looks like Koontz published The Counted Sorrows in response to people constantly asking him if it was real.

Though it looks like you need to buy it direct from Koontz' website if you want a copy.
