Internet explorer keeps shutting down on me when i try to open links.
I've had to reboot my PC from scratch and everything i had on it is back to factory setting. All the updates are now installed but when i want to open a link on a site it tells me it's encountered a problem and is shutting down.I can't get past the login page on most sites and i'm unable to access any banking or other security protected sites.
I have AVG version 8.0 installed running with the service pack 3 Windows firewall.
My settings are security medium high with no sites blocked at present.Any ideas would be most welcome
Thanks.

| funrunna answers: Sounds like you have a browser "hijacker" merc. Goto Tools/internet options (from explorer itself) and note the details in the "homepage" window then click the use default button and see if there's a difference. If there's no difference, just copy and paste this into the window.
