| vultan answers: Well, take the list of titles I put on the other question you asked and remove the books by Tolstoy, Dostoyesvksy, Cervantes and Mann. My own choice would be Ulysses by James Joyce, but it's the kind of book you need an English degree to understand. 3 years ago / reply

| johncurrandavis answers: I'm trying to think of useful criteria for "best" - e.g. well written, great story, illuminating about a time, a place and a "world", etc. There is no "best", of course, but a very good one is "The Picture of Dorian Grey" by Oscar Wilde. 3 years ago / reply
